Built to Last
A solid foundation is the key to a home that is built to last. At Summit Homebuilders, our company is built on delivering the highest level of quality and integrity in the new custom homes that we build in northwest Indiana.
As a small, family-owned, Valparaiso-based custom homebuilder, our reputation is everything. That’s why instead of a sales pitch, we’ll work hard to earn your trust and respect.
Throughout the process we’ll make sure that costs are clear and transparent. In fact, we won’t sign a contract until we know that we can deliver the home of your dreams within your budget.
Because your new home should be tailored specifically to you, we start with a home plan that reflects your lifestyle and needs. Our unique home design process is fun and stress-free, ensuring that your home is the perfect expression of your family.
You can count on our commitment to communicate clearly and honestly throughout the entire process of building your new custom home in northwest Indiana. And each of our hand-selected craftsman share in our commitment to quality and integrity.
I’m looking forward to having you join the Summit family.

The Process
Over the years we have continually modified our processes to make building a new home in northwest Indiana fun and stress-free for our buyers.
Preview Appointment
The first step is a preview appointment with one of our representatives where we will learn about your lifestyle and needs. We’ll talk about where you want to build your new home, estimated costs and financing options.
Designing Your Home
If you choose to have us build your new home, the next step is choosing and personalizing a floorplan based on your family, lifestyle, hobbies and interests. We’ll ask questions like: Do you want a room for your favorite hobbies or crafts? Do you like morning sun in your kitchen? Do you work out of your home? Will you need wider door openings to accommodate someone with special needs now or in the future? Armed with this information, we’ll create a home plan crafted specifically for your family.
At this point, you’ll also choose a homesite and we’ll discuss interior and exterior finishes and amenities.
Design Proposal
Next is the Design Proposal where you’ll receive a detailed description and total price for your new home.
Contract
Once you have approved the design proposal, you’ll obtain a pre-approval letter from your lender and secure a homesite (if owned by a third party.) Then we’ll sign a contract and you’ll submit a down payment. After that construction will begin on your new home in northwest Indiana.
